Route information

This 10km circular route is perfect for all levels of fitness. Whether you're completely new to hiking or already enjoy getting outdoors, the pace is easy and sociable, making it a great way to spend a morning in the countryside.

The route takes around 2 hours, finishing back at The Greyhound pub, where anyone who wants to can stay for drinks or food with the group making it a great way to spend a morning outdoors and meet some like-minded people.

What do I need to bring?

🍽️ Food / water – We recommend a small backpack, 1-1.5L of water, snacks if you'd like them

🥾 Suitable footwear – Much of the route is off-road so walking boots are strongly recommended. We have many tales of trainers that didn’t survive the Essex mud…

📸 Camera – The woodlands and surrounding countryside offer some great opportunities for nature shots.

🍻 Money for drinks/food at The Greyhound – Totally optional but we would love you to join us for a some drinks at the end of the hike.
