THE_URBAN_RACE | Battersea is London’s summer arena hybrid fitness race — bringing live DJs, sunshine, energy and a fired-up fitness community together for one unforgettable race-day experience.

The venue
The race takes place at Battersea Park’s Millennium Arena — a dedicated athletics venue with a 400m, 8‑lane track, covered grandstand, and views across to Battersea Power Station.

Route information

THE_URBAN_RACE is designed around a simple structure.
8 × 500m runs with a functional workout after each run (4km total running).
You’ll alternate between running and workout stations in the following order:
- SkiErg (500m)
- Sled Push (25m)
- Sled Pull (25m)
- Burpee Broad Jumps (40m)
- Row (500m)
- Farmer’s Carry (100m)
- Walking Lunges (50m)
- Wall Balls (50 reps)
Weights and standards vary by division. Full movement standards, weights, and judging requirements are published in the Official Urban Race Rulebook (available on the event page).
A technical briefing will be emailed ahead of race day and included during your athlete briefing on race day.
Most athletes finish in around 45 –75 minutes, depending on pacing and division.

We’ve made getting to the venue simple, with clear routes and on-site signage throughout.
By Tube [Underground]
Battersea Power Station, Northern line.
This is the most convenient Tube stop, with easy access towards Chelsea Gate.
Sloane Square, District & Circle lines.
Also nearby (around 1 km). From the station, you can either:
Walk via Lower Sloane Street and Chelsea Bridge Road,
Hop on the 137 bus for a quicker option.
Our preferred method - Lunge...approx. 1000 lunges.
Use a Tube journey planner to route from your starting point.
By train (Overground)
Battersea Park Station
Leave the station and turn right onto Battersea Park Road. After about 50m you’ll reach the lights. Turn right onto Queenstown Road. Continue for roughly 150m and you’ll see Battersea Park on your left.
Queenstown Road Station
Exit and turn right onto Queenstown Road. Walk for around 300m, and the park entrance will be on your left.

On-site parking is not available.

Battersea Park is located on the south side of the River Thames, by Chelsea Bridge. There are three car parks located nearby at Albert Gate, Chelsea Gate & Rosery Gate.
Cycling
Bike racks in Battersea Park are conveniently located near major entry points and key attractions, including all three main car parks (Albert Gate, Chelsea Gate, and Rosery Gate), the Pear Tree Cafe, the Millennium Arena/AstroTurf area, and near the Peace Pagoda.
The venue entrance is located inside the park, accessible by foot.

Event day logistics

A smooth, well-run race day from arrival to finish.
Please plan to arrive at least 60 minutes before your scheduled wave.
This allows time for registration, bag drop, warm-up, and final race briefing.
Athletes will start in staggered waves throughout the day. Your confirmed wave time, arrival instructions, and final race information will be sent via email approximately 48 hours before race day.
On arrival, follow event signage to:
Registration & wristband / timing chip collection
Secure bag drop
Designated warm-up area
Athletes must enter the start zone 10 minutes before their wave for the race briefing. All facilities and movement flows will be clearly signposted on the day.
Spectators are welcome and free of charge, with arena-style viewing available throughout the venue.
