Arrival Process & Check-In
Take Exit 29 off Route 68. After exiting the highway, if coming from the West take a right, if coming from the East take a left, heading South. You will follow this road South for about 3.5 miles all the way to Big Bear Camplands. Once you hit the guard shack at the front of the park tell them you are here for Ragnar and pass on through.
Parking fees are collected upon entry ($20 if arriving on Thursday night and $10 if arriving on Friday). The parking fee will be credit card only. The fee is a one-time fee. Once you pay, you can come and go as you please!
Your Team number or hangtag must be displayed at all times while your vehicle is in the park. Carpooling is strongly encouraged. We ask you to limit your team to two (2) cars if possible. Each team gets one parking space in the upper parking lot (walkable to the village and camping areas). All other vehicles will park in the lower lot and will need to use our shuttle system to transport back and forth.
After-hours Arrival: If your team will arrive after the shuttles have stopped running, you are permitted to park in the Staff Parking area. Your car MUST be moved by the time shuttles begin running the following day.
Important Reminder: Participant entry is not permitted before 3:30 PM on Thursday.
When you arrive at the venue, one person from the team will check the team in at HQ.
DEPARTURE PROCESS
After an epic weekend of dirt, sweat, and glory, it’s time to head home like the trail legends you are. For a smooth exit, follow these steps:
Clean Up Your Campsite
Leave no trace (except good memories). Use the trash and recycling bags from check-in and toss waste in the right bins—help us help Mother Nature and our clean-up crew.
Pack Up & Head to Gear Drop
Bring all your gear to the Gear Drop before shuttling to parking. Only the driver should take the shuttle to the parking area due to limited space. If you’re lucky enough to be parked nearby, feel free to skip the drop and go straight to your vehicle.
Load Up at Gear Drop
Once you’ve got your car, swing back to Gear Drop and load up. But don’t roll in early—no parking, no lingering, no camping out in the driver’s seat. Think airport drop-off... but with more mud.

Non-official use of drones is prohibited without special approval.

FAQs

Are there showers available at this event?
Yes! Showers are available near the village throughout the weekend! Most of our venues do not have showers available, so this is a great bonus that we have at this venue. These are primitive(ish) showers with hot water, walls, and privacy. There is a male and female side with 3 showers on each side.
ChevronLeft
How difficult are the trails?
This is arguably our most technical course. Expect to walk in several sections while navigating rocky trails.
ChevronLeft
Should I expect rain?
Yes, this race is historically very rainy. Please bring rain layers and extra dry clothes.
